Venue & General Information

The Exhibition was held at Pragati Maidan, an international exhibition venue located in the heart of New Delhi in the backdrop of the management 'Purana Quila' or Old Fort and the Delhi Metro Station, the modern lifeline of Delhi. The air-conditioned Halls No. 14 & 18 with about 8,000 sq. M. Space was available to exhibitors to showcase their products and services.

With ample parking space, proximity to major hotels and excellent communication and transportation facilities, the venue attracted the best of the industry for the PETROTECH 2012 Exhibition.

The Exhibition is slated for a formal unveiling by the Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India, on the evening of 14th October 2012 and will attract wide media attention as a curtain-raiser for the three-day long PETROTECH 2012 events. The pleasant weather in Delhi during October will assure comfortable conditions, both indoors and outdoors of the exhibition area. The exhibition will remain open to visitors from 1000 hrs to 1800 hrs each day during 15th- 17th October 2012.


General Information


VISA : All foreign visitors to India require a VISA before arrival. Please contact the nearest Indian Embassy in your home country for VISA.


AIRPORT : Delhi is well connected to all the major cities of the world by international airlines. The International Airport at Delhi is known as Indira Gandhi International Airport.


INDIAN STANDARD TIME (IST) & WEATHER : Indian Standard Time is 5.30 hours ahead of GMT (GMT+5.30 hrs). The weather in New Delhi during October is pleasant & the temperature varies between 15 and 30 degree Celsius.


ELECTRIC SUPPLY : In India the electric voltage available is 220 volts AC/50 Hz. Some hotels provide additional 110 volt plug point outlets.


ACCOMMODATION : October/November is a high tourist/festive season in Delhi. Special rates at select 5 star hotels are available for Petrotech 2012 participants. For details, please visit the Petrotech website.


CURRENCY AND CURRENCY EXCHANGE: The official currency of India is Indian Rupee (INR). All major currencies can be exchanged at the airport, key hotels and banks. A Money Exchange Counter would also be available at the Petrotech 2012 Exhibition.


LOCAL TRANSPORTATION & SIGHTSEEING: Delhi has a well developed transport system with availability of air-conditioned cars, coaches and State-of-the-Art metro. The Petrotech 2012 exhibition would have a travel counter to assist participants in their travel requirements & excursion plans.


MEDICAL FACILITIES : Delhi has world class medical facilities with leading healthcare groups operating a string of super speciality hospitals across the city. Comprehensive onsite medical services would be available at the Petrotech 2012 Exhibition venue to attend any medical requirements.

Petrotech-2010 is the biggest-ever exhibition held to-date with more than 350 pavilions, over 200 of them from abroad. 10 pavilions are dedicated to countries. The exhibition has the minimum possible carbon footprints, with extensive use of eco-friendly materials like bamboos.
