Each PETROTECH conference and exhibition has been themed specifically to reflect the key issues affecting the industry and the path that leads to growth in the near future. The theme for PETROTECH-2012 was 'Hydrocarbon and Beyond: Changing Landscape'. India is one of the largest emerging energy markets in the Asia-Pacific, and the energy needs are only expected to go up by the year 2025. PETROTECH-2012, came up with innovative and responsible approach to the industry that helped broaden the reach and scope of betterment of the industry.




English is the official language of the Conference.

Theme Sessions

Sessions are addressed by the Senior Ministers of the Government of India and are open to all delegates.

Plenary Sessions

Sessions are addressed by the leaders of the global hydrocarbon industry and are open to all delegates.

Ministerial Discussions

These discussions shall centre on policy issues related to inter-country cooperation. Participation in these discussions is by invitation only.

Special Sessions

These Sessions would brainstorm various issues and challenges that the hydrocarbon industry faces as grapples with technology interventions and clean fuels to create value and enhance sustainability. Key industry executives, senior Government officials, policy makers, and other decision-makers shall attend these sessions. Participation is open to all Delegates.

Technical Sessions

These sessions shall cover the latest technological happenings in downstream, midstream and upstream areas.

Poster Sessions

Poster Sessions provide an opportunity to the participants to have ‘one-to-one’ discussions with the authors.


Vigyan Bhavan, India's premier conference centre is located in the heart of New Delhi. Vigyan Bhavan has been the venue of many historic summits, seminars and conferences attended by distinguished world leaders, dignitaries, scientists and technologists.

Petrotech-2010 is the biggest-ever exhibition held to-date with more than 350 pavilions, over 200 of them from abroad. 10 pavilions are dedicated to countries. The exhibition has the minimum possible carbon footprints, with extensive use of eco-friendly materials like bamboos.
